Articles and books

The following lists bring together a diverse and multilingual collection of sources related to the history and legacy of A. Grothendieck and his era. The first classification divides the sources into “Articles” and “Books.” A secondary classification organizes these sources into specific subjects: “Mathematics” includes works directly inspired by Grothendieck’s scientific heritage, “Colleagues and Students” features documents about people associated with Grothendieck, “Letters” encompasses correspondence related to Grothendieck’s environment, “Biographical” focuses on his life, “Literary” covers works that influenced him and those inspired by him, and “Social and Ecological” includes documents related to his activist activities.

While the primary focus of this bibliography is on Grothendieck’s life and work, it also includes articles and documents that, although not directly related to him, are relevant to the era and cultural context in which he lived. It should be noted that no qualitative selection has been made when compiling this list, the aim being to be as comprehensive as possible, including both ephemeral and classic works, many of which may not be available online. These sources provide altogether a broad understanding of the cultural and historical background in which Grothendieck’s life unfolded, and the impact of his work and ideas on his contemporaries and the future generations.
