Miscellaneous

The study and valorisation of A. Grothendieck’s posterity is a significant undertaking that the CSG is committed to address. We are categorizing his unpublished works into distinct categories. There are works that, although unpublished, are being digitized and/or transcribed for publication and research purposes. the University of Montpellier has put online a collection of scientific works, providing valuable resources for scholars and researchers. Lastly, there are additional documents that are in the process of being made accessible (see below).

While the “CSG Number and Index” focuses on classifying Grothendieck’s published works, the CSG actively supports endeavors aimed at making his unpublished works available for publication. Once these works are published, they will be assigned a unique CSG number and included in the index, ensuring their inclusion in the comprehensive survey of Grothendieck’s contributions.

In addition to the well-known unpublished works, there is a significant corpus of unpublished writings by Grothendieck that remain unclassified, including the notable ‘Laserre Archive.’ The Centre for Grothendieckian Studies (CSG) is committed to supporting initiatives aimed at elucidating and organizing this material, with the ultimate goal of making these valuable writings accessible to scholars, researchers, and interested communities. By shedding light on these unpublished works, the CSG seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of Grothendieck’s legacy and foster further exploration of his profound insights and contributions.

“Ce fonds a été donné par Alexandre Grothendieck à l’un de ses anciens
élèves, Jean Malgoire, enseignant-chercheur à l’Université de Montpellier.
Il a été réalisé en deux temps, fin juin ou début juillet 1990 et le 28
juillet 1995. Jean Malgoire conserve à son domicile les archives
Grothendieck jusqu’en 2010, date à laquelle elles sont déposées à
l’Université de Montpellier.”
In addition to the “Archives Grothendieck,” there exists a wealth of unknown
unpublished writings by Grothendieck, including the important “Laserre
Notes.” The CSG centre is dedicated to promoting initiatives that aim to
shed light on this situation and make these valuable writings available to
scholars and researchers.
